According to a recent report by Access Now and KeepItOn, internet shutdowns have become a major global concern. In 2025, at least 313 shutdown incidents were recorded across 52 countries. Among democratic nations, India reported the highest number of shutdowns with 65 incidents.
Myanmar topped the global list with 95 shutdowns, followed by India, Pakistan, and Russia. This highlights growing concerns about digital freedom and governance.
