STARS Project: Ministry of Education Initiative

Context The Ministry of Education and the World Bank organized a workshop under the STARS Project to enhance school education. STARS is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented in six states: Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala. STARS Program Overview It is carved out of Samagra Shiksha, focusing on elements directly supporting school education enhancement. Two Major Components

1. National Level: Strengthening learning assessment systems Establishing the National Assessment Center (PARAKH) 2. State Level: Strengthening Early Childhood Education Enhancing classroom instruction Focusing on Vocational education
