SPACE is the Navy's physical and oceanographic laboratory.
Testing and evaluation of sonar system of the Indian Navy will be done here.
Through sonar system, objects present under water are detected from ships, submarines and helicopters. SPACE is made up of two structures, one a floating platform on water and the other a submersible platform.
Submersible platforms can be lowered 100 meters below water.
