What is KUSUM-C SCHEME
Kusum-c scheme recently inaugurated by Siddaramaiah , who was the chief minister of Karnataka. Main aim of this scheme is to transform the agricultural power supply in Karnataka. The enterprise focus on providing daytime electricity to farmers, increase their productivity and reducing energy waste. This scheme is made for farmers to supply seven hours of daytime electricity. The initiative includes solarization of 389 substations, which will produce 2,396 megawatts of electricity. This enterprise will support 1,555 agriculture tributary and benefits over 6,32,000 pump set.
SUPPORT AND SUBSIDIES PROVIDED BY GOVERMENT
This subsidy will confirm that all peasants can access and affordable energy without any problem. The KUSUM-C scheme offers an 80% state subsidy and 30% central subsidy, for making solar energy more accessible.

This scheme generating electricity locally, this enterprise reduce dependency on fossil fuels and mitigates the impact of power shortages. This scheme promote power generation, which is environmentally friendly.
KARANATAKA'S VISION AND STRATEGIC APPROACH
Karnataka was among first states to launch a large-scale solar feeder program under KUSUM-C. The state aims to establish localized solar power plant near existing substations to power irrigation feeders during the day.This avoids transmission losses and reduces the financial load on discoms due to agricultural subsidies.
