Naval Gallantry Museum Announced in Lucknow

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the construction of a Naval Gallantry Museum in Lucknow.

Designed in the abstract shape of a warship, the museum will showcase India’s naval strength and maritime history in the Indian Ocean region.

Historic Women's Cricket Record

In a landmark moment for cricket, the Indian women’s cricket team successfully chased 339 runs against Australia in the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semifinal.
This is now the highest successful run-chase in Women's ODI cricket history, and the first time a target above 330 has been chased in women’s cricket.

56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)

The 56th IFFI will be held in Panaji, Goa from 20–28 November 2025.

Major Defence Agreements

Major Defence Agreements India and the United States

India and the United States signed a 10-year Defence & Security Framework Agreement in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 31 October 2025.
The pact, signed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US counterpart Peter Hegseth, aims to enhance Indo-Pacific security, defence technology cooperation, and strategic partnership.

  • India–Morocco signed a defence cooperation pact for joint training & military exercises.

  • IIT Kanpur partnered with Vietnam University for academic and research collaboration.

  • ICC and Google joined hands to promote women's cricket.

  • India–UK Free Trade Agreement was formally signed on 24 July 2025.

Russia Tests ‘Poseidon’ Underwater Drone

Russia has conducted successful testing of its nuclear-powered Poseidon (Status-6) underwater drone.
The drone can travel unlimited distances using a mini nuclear reactor and is designed to potentially create radioactive tsunamis, with estimated speeds of 200 km/h.

World’s Largest Moth Spotted in Karnataka

The Atlas moth, the world’s largest moth species, has been spotted in Guddehalli, Karwar (Karnataka).
Known for its 25–30 cm wingspan, the species is native to Southeast Asia and produces a rare silk known as Fagara.

Sonam Wangchuk Honored by TIME Magazine

Renowned Ladakh-based environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk has been featured in TIME’s 100 Most Influential Climate Leaders of 2025.
He has pioneered scientific methods for creating artificial glaciers to preserve Himalayan water resources.
Wangchuk, founder of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, received the Ramon Magsaysay Award (2018) and is currently under custody in Jodhpur Central Jail due to ongoing protests related to Ladakh statehood.

State Reorganisation Anniversary
