India Creates History – Wins ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025
India won the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final at D.Y. Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. The tournament was hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November 2025.
India scored 298/7 in 50 overs, while South Africa was bowled out for 246 in 45.3 overs.
Shafali Verma emerged as the star of the final with 87 runs and 2 wickets, winning the Player of the Match award. Deepti Sharma became Player of the Tournament with 22 wickets and 215 runs. Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa was the highest run-scorer with 571 runs, including a top score of 169.
Samia Suluhu Hassan Re-Elected as President of Tanzania
Samia Suluhu Hassan has been re-elected as the President of Tanzania, securing 97.66% of the votes. She continues as the country’s first female President since taking office in 2021.

4,000-Year-Old Dilmun Civilization Temple Discovered in Kuwait
A 4,000-year-old temple belonging to the ancient Dilmun Civilization has been unearthed on Fayaka island in Kuwait. The structure contains layers of temples built one over another, providing new insights into ancient Middle Eastern religious and cultural history. The Dilmun Civilization covered modern-day Bahrain, Kuwait, and eastern Saudi Arabia.
China Launches Shenzhou-21 Mission
China launched the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft, carrying the country’s youngest astronaut Wu Fei and four small mammals (mice). It is the first biological experiment of its kind at the Tiangong Space Station, aiming to study life and biology in space.

Bengaluru-based company Pravag Dynamics has developed India’s first electric stealth all-terrain vehicle (e-ATV) named O’VEER. Designed for military use, it operates silently across difficult terrains including deserts, mountains, and snow, and runs completely on electric power.

FIDE has named the trophy of the 2025 World Chess Cup as the Viswanathan Anand Cup, honoring India’s legendary Grandmaster. The event is being held in Panaji, Goa from 31 October to 27 November 2025.
International Day for Biosphere Reserves – 3 November
The International Day for Biosphere Reserves is observed on 3 November to raise awareness about the importance of balancing nature and human activities.
India has 18 biosphere reserves, out of which 13 are recognized by UNESCO. In September 2025, the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve in Himachal Pradesh was added to the UNESCO network.
New Vidhan Sabha Building Inaugurated in Chhattisgarh
On the 25th Foundation Day of Chhattisgarh (1 November 2025), Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state’s new Vidhan Sabha building in Nava Raipur. He also unveiled a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and dedicated the Veer Narayan Singh Memorial, along with announcing development projects worth ₹14,260 crore.
