India Creates History – Wins ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025

India won the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final at D.Y. Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. The tournament was hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November 2025.

India scored 298/7 in 50 overs, while South Africa was bowled out for 246 in 45.3 overs.
Shafali Verma emerged as the star of the final with 87 runs and 2 wickets, winning the Player of the Match award. Deepti Sharma became Player of the Tournament with 22 wickets and 215 runs. Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa was the highest run-scorer with 571 runs, including a top score of 169.

He also unveiled a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and dedicated the Veer Narayan Singh Memorial, along with announcing development projects worth ₹14,260 crore.
