India Shines at Asian Youth Games 2025
India delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Youth Games 2025, held in Manama, Bahrain, securing a total of 48 medals — 13 gold, 18 silver, and 17 bronze. A strong contingent of 222 Indian athletes participated in the multi-sport event.
India dominated traditional sports like Kabaddi, winning gold medals in both boys’ and girls’ categories. In Boxing, young athletes Khushi Chand, Ahana Sharma, Chandrika Pujari, and Anshika clinched gold, while in Wrestling, Moni, Yashita, and Jaiveer Singh emerged champions. India also excelled in beach wrestling, with Anjali, Sani Phulmali, and Arjun Ruhil capturing gold medals.
The event marks a milestone for youth sports in Asia, featuring over 8,000 athletes from 45 nations across 28 disciplines. Olympic medalist Yogeshwar Dutt served as India's team chief.

Lancet Report on India's Air Pollution – PM2.5
A Lancet-backed study has reported that over 1.7 million deaths in India in 2022 were linked to PM2.5 pollution, marking a 38% rise since 2010. The report involved 128 scientists from UCL and researchers from 71 global institutions.
However, the Ministry of Environment, Government of India, has questioned the accuracy, citing limitations in modelling.

Fine particles smaller than 2.5 microns capable of entering the lungs and bloodstream, causing heart disease, stroke, lung disorders, and cancer.
India Launches First Fully Digital Marine Fisheries Census
India has started its first-ever fully digital Marine Fisheries Census (2025) to bring all fishers and fishing assets on a digital platform. Launched on 31 October 2025 in Kochi by Union Minister of State for Fisheries George Kurien, the survey uses mobile apps VYAS-BHARAT and VYAS-SUTRA.
Census Period: 3 November – 18 December 2025
Objective: Digital registration, real-time data collection, and welfare scheme monitoring for fisher communities.
AI Education from Class 3 in India
The Ministry of Education has announced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be part of the curriculum for students from Class 3 starting 2026-27 academic year. The initiative will include video-based learning modules and teacher training through NISHTHA, aiming to build early-stage AI and digital literacy.
Namitbir Singh Walia Becomes International Master
Namitbir Singh Walia from Jalandhar, Punjab has become the second International Master (IM) from Punjab, after achieving the IM norm in a chess championship in France. The title is awarded by FIDE (World Chess Federation).

ISRO Launches 4,400-kg CMS-03 Satellite
On 2 November 2025 at 5:26 PM, ISRO successfully launched the CMS-03 (GSAT-7R) satellite using the LVM3-M5 (Bahubali Rocket) from Sriharikota.
This is India’s heaviest satellite launched to GTO and will significantly enhance Indian Navy communications, maritime surveillance, and secure data capabilities.
